Seeing a lot of CEOs struggle with this
They’re using offshore dev teams, external companies or lots of contractors.
And even though they’re happy with the output, they struggle to tie everything together for calls and meetings about new partnerships, integrations or clients.
Things are being misunderstood on these calls and need to be repeated. Ultimately just not showcasing their capabilities in the best light.
It’s an interesting space, if you’re a founder today, I would say it’s often smarter to stay in your job and use it to fund a dev company to get your idea off the ground.
You may even stay with them as you get off the ground.
But you need someone to tie the technical stuff together. Your dev partner is so focused on code and the technical stuff and it might not be the right level of information for your clients.
Under this model, the ideal CTO is not the super technical genius, but someone who can translate and feed your dev engine.
