I think the “contract to hire” will be front and center in this new flexible/remote working world.
In the past these were a bad deal for developers.
Nobody wants to move across the country without some certainty.
And I get it – employers want to avoid costly hiring mistakes.
That’s where the benefits of remote working come in.
New employees can audition for the role, prove themselves, get paid, decide if the company is a good fit and not have to uproot their family.
Employers can make sure there is a fit before offering the permanent position.
This will lead to shorter hiring cycles and better fit for everyone.
